Fits to Hit the Slopes In: Looks for this Winter

All the essentials to turn heads, both on the chairlift and apres ski.

Hello again! It’s been a minute since I’ve had the time or energy to create content. I recently made a huge life change by moving out of my college apartment and back to my hometown to finish the semester online. The craziness of moving and getting settled took much longer than I anticipated, but now that I’m organized, I’m ready to get back into the swing of things!

The weather had been suspiciously fair all December. It was just my luck that Michigan got hit with the first winter storm of the season the day before my move was scheduled. While it made moving more stressful than my boyfriend and I would have liked, it made for a great day of celebratory skiing and snowboarding the following weekend.

While we were on the hill, I couldn’t help but eye some of the other girls’ ski outfits. I haven’t updated my snowboarding jacket in years, so it only seems fitting I round up my favorite looks for hitting the slopes this season.

This post features clothing from both ASOS and Free People. I love shopping at ASOS for winter because they have a great ski and snowboard section of their webstore. They carry name brands like The North Face, Columbia, Roxy, and more. They also have a special running where you can purchase premier shipping for only $19 a year. They also have 2.5% cashback right now through Rakuten (formerly Ebates).

Ski Jackets

An essential part of any winter outfit, a jacket will keep you warm and dry during winter weather. A well-fitting, good quality winter coat is definitely worth investing in. I personally prefer neutral color jackets to compliment many different outfits underneath, but a vibrant color or funky print will make you stand out on the mountain if you’re a skier or snowboarder.

Snow Pants

Like a winter jacket, snow pants are an essential part of staying comfortable while partaking in outdoor fun. No one wants a cold, wet ass. Again, it’s worth spending a little more money here and investing in a good quality pair that will last you for years. There’s also a ski suit I absolutely adore.

Snow Boots

Footwear for your apres ski journey, whether it be to the bar or to the car for some intermittent tailgating. These Hunter boots are so freaking cute— they’re very similar looking to Moon Boots and a great price point for the quality.

Snow Accessories

A proper set of gloves, a hat, and scraves are the perfect way to personalize your ski look and add some creative flair to your outfit. I love my Roxy gloves, they keep my fingers warm while snowboarding and provide good grip when I need to ride a tow rope on the hill.
