Black is a Spring Color, Right?

A monochromatic look to kick off the warm weather.

Wow, it’s been a minute since I’ve posted.

The season change always has me feeling a little bit funky. I don’t know if it’s the grey skies, lack of vitamin D, or the fact that the snow melts and reveals that everything is brown and dead. We can all agree it’s not pretty.

Maybe that’s why I’m still clutching to my black clothing like it’s mid-December. I know, I know, black clothing never goes out of style. But there’s something about the incoming spring styles that I’m just not prepared for.— Little House on the Prairie dresses, I’m talking to you. Why are these dresses/skirts literally everywhere? I can’t be the only one who thinks they’re atrocious.

As you can see, I haven’t exactly given in to pastels and florals. It’s not very warm in Northern Michigan yet but I’m ready to pack away my winter jacket for good. Thankfully, this faux-leather moto jacket from ASOS is the perfect amount of warmth and the right amount of stylish. I put on a simple long sleeve crop and some comfortable shaping leggings underneath. (Not a fan of Lulu’s? Try these Tiktok acclaimed dupes!) Paired with my all-time-favorite Dr. Marten Chelsea boots…Did I mention these are fur-lined? They’re the most comfortable winter/spring boots I’ve ever owned and I get stopped all the time by people who want to compliment them.

I also just recently acquired this gorgeous little Prada number... I’ll talk more about that in my next post, which will give a full and detailed review of my first designer bag!

I’m honestly super relieved it’s finally warm (and sunny) enough to go outside and shoot outfits. I’m stoked to be able to take my own photos and release content on a more frequent schedule. There’s nothing less motivating than 10-degree weather!

Going forward… I can’t wait to wear this moto jacket over dresses. I think a statement jacket is an easy way to spruce up a dress and add some personal flair. Plus, I personally love the juxtaposition of a feminine dress and an edgy, leather piece. That look sums up my personality pretty well I’d say.
